Daisy Machytka was born in 1961 in Budapest, Hungary. She graduated from the Technical University of Budapest in 1985 with a M.Sc.Chem.Eng. degree. From 1985 to 1998 she was a research fellow with the Central Research Institute for Chemistry of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. In 1987/1988 she was doing postgraduate studies as a Soros scholar at the University of Oxford (Brasenose College) in England. In 1990 she obtained her doctoral degree in physical chemistry from the Technical University of Budapest. From 1990 to 1993 she was a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Bonn in Germany. She passed her patent attorney examination in 1994, joined Gödölle, Kékes, Mészáros & Szabó as a patent attorney in 1998 and became a partner as of 2005. From 2003 she is a European patent attorney, and from 2004 a professional representative before the European Union Intellectual Property Office.

Dr. Machytka-Frank is a member of the Hungarian Chamber of Patent Attorneys. She was a member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Chamber and has been a member of the Presidency of the Chamber since 2019. She was member of the Examination Board for Patent Attorneys between 2017 and 2020.

Dr. Machytka-Frank is a member of the Hungarian Association for the Protection of Industrial Property and Copyright (MIE), and the Hungarian Trademark Association, where she is also a member of the Controlling Committee. She is a member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) and a member of the AIPPI Pharma Committee. She is a member of the Presidency of the Hungarian Group of AIPPI. Furthermore, she is a member of the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI), an associate member of the Pharmaceutical Trade Marks Group (PTMG) and a country correspondent to the Bio-Science Law Review, Witney, United Kingdom.

In 2019 Dr. Machytka-Frank was awarded the Jedlik Ányos Prize by the President of the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office for outstanding accomplishments in protection of industrial property.
